Just Plain Chess

Just Plain Chess is a game that is just plain chess. Really. Regular ol’ chess.

The project started as a way to learn 3d modeling with Blender. Once I had the chess pieces made, I thought “why not make these pieces playable?” If you have thoughts that you’d like to share please reach out to me on Twitter @calebjross

I Can Hear Them Coming

I Can Hear Them Coming is a top-down, pixel-art experience that will take players only a few minutes to complete.

I created this “game” to learn about Unity scene management, pixel art animation, and object states. If you have thoughts that you’d like to share please reach out to me on Twitter @calebjross

Suspect: a Game of Evidence and Assumptions

You’re an evidence analyst for a small-town police department. Use what little evidence you have to make big decisions.

I created this “game” to explore the string connection mechanic. If you have thoughts about this mechanic that you’d like to share please reach out to me on Twitter @calebjross

PolyOne-Uppers

This is a project I created to learn more about development with C# and Unity.

This is card game that uses Top Trumps rules with the exception of turn order. The player always goes first.

Playing Nightmare Creators 4

Playing Nightmare Creators 4 gamifies the PS4 console updating downloading screen.

We’ve all been there: excited to play a new game only to be stopped by hours of updates that we need to install first. Playing Nightmare Creators 4 takes that annoying process and makes it fun…well, less horrible.

This is the first game I’ve created using Gamemaker Studio 2 that I feel I can truly say I created without the use of tutorials (or at least, the game itself isn’t just a bastardized tutorial itself).

Type: Narrative Minigames

Hemmorhoids (or ASSteroids, Whichever is Funnier)

Asteroids sounds like ASSteroids. That’s all the motivation I needed to create this dumb game.

Created using this great YoYo Games tutorial as a starting point.
